Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has agreed to acquire Brazil-based industrial robotics and
automation solutions provider Pollux. The acquisition is expected to “expand
Accenture’s capabilities for clients in consumer goods, pharmaceutical and automotive
industries seeking to make their factories, plants and supply chains more
productive, safe and sustainable,” according to the press release. Nigel
Stacey, global lead for Accenture Industry X, commented:
“Automation
and human + machine collaboration are digitally transforming manufacturing and
supply chain operations to be more flexible, resilient, sustainable and safe,
and to better meet ever-changing customer demands. Tangibly seeing these
benefits in practice requires a true integration of information technology and
operations technology, which is what Pollux will allow us to offer our
manufacturing clients."
Baidu, Inc. (NasdaqGS:BIDU) has signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) with China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. to drive the intelligent transformation of the
energy industry. In doing so, Baidu will “leverage its capabilities in
AI-powered new infrastructure to help Huaneng closely integrate the digital
economy with the energy and power industry, which will enhance efficiencies and
users' experience.” Baidu’s CTO, Haifeng Wang, said:
“China's
economy is turning to the direction of high-quality development, and AI is a
new kinetic energy and new engine that will drive this high-quality
development. Since the energy industry is such an important part of the
national economy, the degree of its intelligent construction is directly
related to the state of the economy and the level of intelligent transformation
of society.”
Global
AI in Food & Beverage Market to Grow by $394.22M from 2021-25
