phrase several times to create a “voiceprint”, allowing the software will

Toyota
AI Ventures Launches $100 Million ‘Fund II’ to Invest in Robotics and
Autonomous Technology
TechCrunch reports that Toyota AI Ventures,
which is a subsidiary of Toyota Research Institute, is launching a $100 million
fund to invest in early-stage robotics and autonomous technology startups. This
is the second fund from the firm, called Fund II, and will bring total assets
to $200 million. Jim Adler, managing director of Toyota AI Ventures, said:
“One
of the things that we want to explore with Fund II is the unbundling of
mobility. The personally-owned vehicle has provided tremendous safety, freedom,
convenience, and fun. What we’re now seeing is a phase of unbundling such as
ride hailing, micromobility, etc. There are investment opportunities where
autonomous technologies might accelerate these unbundled mobility products and
services.”
